Darya Narymanava is a versatile, well-trained, promising mezzo-soprano. Her voice has been described as “sizable, beautiful, warm, clear mezzo voice with ease of range and flexibility.”
Ms. Narymanava is now pursuing her Master of Music in Voice Performance ('23) at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
Ms. Narymanava has been a winner and participant in various international and European competitions, opera and musical productions. At the age of 23, Darya already had 3 years of experience of working full time as a performing artist and has done more than 250 performances. Her most recent roles include Cherubino and Marcellina (Le Nozze di Figaro), Olga (Eugene Onegin), Golda and Tzeitl (Fiddler on the Roof). She is currently preparing the role of Dorabella (Cosi Fan Tutte).
Originally from a small, provincial town Borisov in Belarus, Ms. Narymanava moved with her family to Saint-Petersburg, Russia, looking for a better life and education. She received a full scholarship from one of the best art universities in the country, from which she graduated Summa Cum Laude.
In her 2nd year of university, Ms. Narymanava was invited to sing in productions in local opera theaters. Darya was also one of the students invited to be part of the theatrical troupe in Saint-Petersburg State Theater “Zazerkalie.” The theater was producing 3-4 operas and musicals each year, and Ms. Narymanava was a soloist/ensemble artist in every production, every season. In addition to these experiences, while fully enrolled in the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts, she gained remarkable training in singing, acting, ballet and musical dancing, fencing, acrobatics, and more.
After graduating from the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts, Ms. Narymanava was invited to the Boston Conservatory at Berklee to pursue her MM in Voice Performance. Darya moved to another continent to continue her studies and learn from the best teachers. Over the course of the first year, Ms. Narymanava was involved in a number of concerts and productions of the Conservatory, including, “La Clemenza di Tito”, the New Music Festival, the New England premiere of “Crispus Attucks” by Adolphus Hailstork in the Boston Symphony Hall, various recitals, and many more. Apart from her studies, Ms. Narymanava has always felt the need to contribute to the community and now is helping students and staff of the Conservatory by providing free Russian diction coachings.
Darya has always been passionately following her career path wherever it took her.
